The Char Dham (Four Abodes) pilgrimage is considered the most sacred journey in Hinduism. Established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, these four temples are located at the four cardinal points of India.

1. Badrinath (North) — Uttarakhand
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, at 10,279 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas. Open May to November.

2. Jagannath Puri (East) — Odisha
Home to Lord Jagannath. Famous for Rath Yatra and the world's largest kitchen.

3. Rameswaram (South) — Tamil Nadu
Where Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva. Famous for 22 sacred wells.

4. Dwarka (West) — Gujarat
Dwarkadhish Temple marks Lord Krishna's ancient kingdom.

Planning Your Yatra: Traditional circuit: Puri → Rameswaram → Dwarka → Badrinath. Best time: October-November.
